Making Royal Greenwich a Borough of Sanctuary
Our mission
We all deserve a safe place to live, where we can thrive and be in control of our lives. But we know that it can be difficult for many people living in our communities, because this government is making decisions that divide and exclude refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants.
By coming together, we can make our neighbourhoods places of sanctuary, where everyone can build a life, be part of the community and get the support they need when times are tough.
Make Greenwich a safe place for all by joining the Greenwich Borough of Sanctuary movement!
Royal Greenwich Borough of Sanctuary Group
The Royal Greenwich Borough of Sanctuary Group involves organisations and refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants. We meet often to organise campaigns that improve the life of all migrants in our borough.
We aim to work closely with The Royal Borough of Greenwich Council and other institutions and organisations to make Greenwich a Borough of Sanctuary. We also campaigning to make our neighbourhoods thriving places, where everyone can have certainty and support to live a dignified life, no matter their immigration status. And we use community organising methods under our partnership with Greenwich Citizens.
We are part of the City of Sanctuary movement, which aims to create a network of towns and cities throughout the UK that are proud to be places of safety and inclusion for people seeking sanctuary.
